Perceived Permanency of Pain

Don’t hold on to the perceived permanency of your pain.

We get so caught up in our pain at times that we forget how impermanent and temporal life can be. Don’t be so attached to the temporary. Know that whatever you’re experiencing carries a use by date.

So much so that when you go to sleep at night and fall in to deep sleep you awake the next day not remembering. In other words, when you think there is no reprieve, there actually really is.

Life is made of compartmentalized experiences. These experiences are all connected by your witnessing and observation. YOU are in control of how you respond to the life that you simultaneously create and attract and the life that is happening FOR YOU (not TO YOU).

Knowing this is a game changer, because instead of avoiding experiences that carry so much wisdom and teaching, we choose to move THROUGH them as opposed to ignore them and pretend they don’t exist.

What we RESIST TRULY PERSISTS. Even if we can’t see it or are not consciously aware of it. It influences us through our beliefs and unconscious thought (that makes up 90+ % of our mind chatter). So, where to from here?

Imagine that each painful experience has something to teach you and you can grow from it and feel freer than ever before and the only way to feel lighter in your mind, feelings and relationships is to remain present – non-attached and non-judgmental. Simply observe.

Long enough for the penny to drop and for you to have that aha moment and then you realise that it’s gone. The intensity of pain has disappeared and you’ve gained something from it – wiser, lighter, freer.

During the witnessing ensure to surround yourself with familiar and comforting people or environments. Trustworthy and safe spaces. Immerse in nature, be kind to your body, journal your expressions, release the tension through intense activity and feel your feels. You got this. It won’t last forever…
